VOLUNTEERS
The Cobourg Police Volunteers (CPVs) are “dedicated to making a difference in our community” through a proactive partnership with the Cobourg Police Service involving a variety of highly visible, non-confrontational activities in areas of safety, security, and the support service, in order to preserve and enhance the quality of life in Cobourg.
The Cobourg Police Service is very proud of our Volunteer contingent. Over the years, Cobourg citizens have volunteered their time to assist the Service in a variety of capacities including child fingerprinting, railway safety & special event assistance and security. The Cobourg Police Volunteers were awarded the 2003 Civic Award by the Town of Cobourg. As well, several volunteers have received individual Civic Awards.
Volunteers attend training sessions to adapt to and understand the operating procedures. Serving the public at the Police Station reception desk, helping the public at the “Trailer in the Park”, acting as helpers at annual town activities and being partners with the Cobourg Police Service are rewarding experiences.
