KIDS PRINTS
An identification kit includes kids’ names, date of birth, gender, eye and hair colour, their blood type and features like birthmarks and special notes. Under special notes, parents can write about allergies, disabilities or who to contact in an emergency.
The kit further includes a fingerprint / baby footprints record, along with a taped hair strand (from the root). The kits are then kept by parents. CPS does not keep these kits or any of the information. We also provide kid on-board decals for infant/child seats, which are designed to help a first responder identify if a child is in a vehicle during a collision, if the parents were ever incapacitated.
We recommend all parents update kids’ photos in the kits every year, and that parents also take photos on their phones of the identification kit. That way, as you attend public events, you have information for first responders to help you.
The Kids Prints kits are free and are available at our station. Our Auxiliary officers also hand out the kits at many community events throughout the town.
