A 44-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance on Friday afternoon.
On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., police were dispatched to a business on Division Street in response to a disturbance. Police attended the area and learned that an individual was asked to leave the business for being disruptive and subsequently assaulted a staff member. Minor injuries were reported.
As a result of the police investigation, a 44-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with assault and fail to comply with probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
A 33-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after a theft investigation.
On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, police received a report of shoplifting at a business on Elgin Street West in Cobourg. An individual concealed merchandise and exited the store, making no attempt to pay. Police identified a suspect using video surveillance footage.
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, police on general patrol observed an individual wanted for the offence. As a result, a 33-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.00 and two counts of fail to comply with Probation. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
