A 24-year-old Roseneath man is facing impaired charges after police conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 11:00 pm, police observed a vehicle run a red light at Elgin Street West and Rogers Road in Cobourg. A vehicle stop was conducted. Officers formed grounds to believe that the driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. The driver failed a roadside screening test and was placed under arrest for impaired operation.
As a result of the police investigation, a 24-year-old man from Roseneath was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus), Red Light – Fail to Stop, Driving a Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, and Driving a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor. He was released on an Undertaking and Provincial Offences Notice with a future court date. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for 7 days.
