COBOURG (June 19, 2025) – The Cobourg Police Service (CPS) is hosting Commercial Vehicle Awareness Days today and tomorrow in the Town of Cobourg as part of the June Selective Traffic Enforcement Project (STEP), focusing on commercial motor vehicles. The event is a joint effort with the Peterborough Police Service (PPS), the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Port Hope Police Service (PHPS), the Belleville Police Service (BPS), the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), and other road safety partners.
The Commercial Vehicle Awareness Days aim to ensure that commercial vehicles, trucks, and trailers comply with safety regulations and enhance road safety in Cobourg and the surrounding areas. The initiative will include engagement, education, and inspections of commercial vehicles by certified personnel from the MTO and the Peterborough Police Service.
