A 41-year-old Cobourg man faces trespass-by-night charges after police investigated a suspicious person call in the east end of the Town of Cobourg.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2024, police were notified that a male was observed lurking at a residence in the area of King Street East and Walton Street in Cobourg. The male was observed on the home security cameras looking in the homeowner’s vehicle and porch area.

Police attended the address and located the male in the backyard of the property. As a result of the investigation, the 41-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with one count of Trespass by Night, contrary to section 177 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an undertaking and with a court date scheduled for March 19, 2025.
