A 41-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police were called to a disturbance Friday night.
On Friday, January 24, 2025, at approximately 9:33 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance in a hotel room in the Town of Cobourg. Through the investigation, police learned that a male had failed to comply with the conditions of his release order.
As a result, a 41-year-old Dufferin County man was arrested at the scene and charged with Fail to Comply with Release Order.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
A 31-year-old Cobourg woman is charged after police received a report of theft.
On Saturday, January 25, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., police attended a business in the area of King Street West and Spring Street in Cobourg in response to a report of theft. Staff informed police that a female had entered the store, selected merchandise, and left without paying.
Officers checked the area and located the female attempting to flee. The female was arrested without incident. The merchandise was recovered and returned to the business. The 31-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with theft under $5,000 and released on an undertaking.
