Adam Bureau and Sean Graham were elected Chair and Vice-Chair at the January police service board meeting.

COBOURG (January 21, 2025) – At this morning’s Cobourg Police Service Board (CPSB) meeting, in accordance with section 36 of the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019, the Chair and Vice-Chair for 2025 were elected. CPSB members elected Councillor Adam Bureau as Chair and Sean Graham as Vice-Chair.

Chair Bureau and Vice-Chair Graham will continue to provide leadership and governance in their new roles, working closely with Chief Paul VandeGraaf and the police service executive team to achieve strategic objectives and priorities for Cobourg Police Service.

Adam Bureau is a dedicated business owner with 17 years of experience managing Downtown Cobourg. He is currently serving his second term on the council, exhibiting a strong commitment to enhancing the community. In his previous term on town council, Adam championed culture and tourism, and he now undertakes the pivotal responsibility of leading protection services, prioritizing the safety and well-being of citizens. Adam has served as a member of the Cobourg Police Service Board served as the Vice-Chair in 2024 and will serve as Chair for 2025.

Sean Graham

Sean Graham is a dedicated entrepreneur and community advocate who continues to make a positive impact in Cobourg through his small business, volunteer work, and personal dedication to the town. As a local business owner, Sean has a passion for providing quality services and giving back to our community. Beyond his business growth, Sean in the past has been active in assisting local charities, supporting initiatives focused on positive outcomes. Sean has additional board experience having served three years with the local radio station 89.7 as a board director and served on various committees. Sean was appointed by the Executive Council of Ontario to the police board on March 25, 2019, then reappointed by the Executive Council on March 7, 2022. During his tenure with the CPSB, he has sat on various committees, including the strategic planning committee and human resources committee A longtime resident of Cobourg, Sean values family and community and develops positive relationships wherever possible.
