Police will be on patrol in the community to help ensure everyone has a great night

COBOURG (October 28, 2022) — As Halloween approaches, the Cobourg Police Service (CPS) reminds everyone to plan for a safe night. CPS members will be out in the community conducting neighbourhood patrols as mini-costumed goblins and ghouls make their way around the Town of Cobourg on Halloween night.

Before you head out to trick or treat, here are some reminders to ensure a safe and memorable time with friends and family:

  • Ensure costumes fit well to avoid tripping.
  • Wear light colours or add reflective tape/glow sticks for visibility.
  • Use face paint instead of masks to avoid vision impairment.
  • Stick to sidewalks and look before crossing the street.
  • Plan a route and return time for older kids trick-or-treating alone.
  • Check all treats before eating and discard homemade or open items.

Drivers, slow down, stay alert, and watch for kids.
