A 44-year-old Brighton man was charged with impaired after police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11:59 am, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Elgin Street West and William Street in the Town of Cobourg. A driver, the 44-year-old Brighton man, was arrested on scene and charged with Operation Impaired – drugs.  No injuries were reported.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have yet to speak with police or anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time of the collision to please come forward.
